Tanzania 2026 Post 5
Day 4 was jammed packed! We started with Morning Glory with the matrons, cooks, inventory manager and environment teams. It was the perfect start to our day. Next we headed into the kitchen to help prepare breakfast and lunch for the entire campus. We took turns chopping, cutting, stirring, cooking and serving! What a delight! No one was injured and the food was edible:)
Next we were treated to a front row view of the holistic approach Shade incorporates. Some families of Shade apply for micro loans to start a small business. Led by Winifreda, we visited three Shade Mamas: one raising pigs, one with a corner produce store, and one with a pharmacy. Each woman's story was different, but inspiring and a reflection of strength, perseverance, joy and faith. We really loved seeing how Shade cares for the entire family. Our evening finished with a bajaji trip to town and a tasty dinner of mishkaki, chips, and red chicken.
Tomorrow is graduation day!!!
