The mission of Church of the Resurrection is the same mission Jesus gave his followers:
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
VISION
The vision of Church of the Resurrection is to:
create a community of authentic believers and to witness a city transformed by the life changing reality of the gospel, as people come to know Jesus as their lord and savior.
Mission
Church of the Resurrection is affiliated with the Anglican Diocese of the Mid-Atlantic (DOMA) under the leadership of Bishop Chris Warner.
What res believes about
God
We believe there is only one God who exists in three distinct persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). We believe that God has always existed, created all things, and is the sustainer of all things. He is all powerful, all knowing, and unchangeable. He is loving and just and desires a relationship with each one of us. (1 John 5:7; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17; Matthew 28:19; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6; Hebrews 3:7-11)
Jesus
We believe that Jesus is God, the second person of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to man and to become the Savior of the world. He lived a perfect life, died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for our sins, and conquered death and sin through His resurrection. It is through Him alone that a person can enter into a right relationship with God. He now intercedes on behalf of believers seated at the right hand of God in heaven. (John 1:1, 14; John 20:28; 1 Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 9:6; Philippians 2:5-6; 1 Timothy 2:5)
The Hoiy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is God, the third person of the Trinity. We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts people of their sin, opens their heart and mind to be receptive to the love of God, and forever indwells the believer upon salvation. The Holy Spirit then equips, strengthens, and encourages the believer to live in obedience to the will of God. (Acts 5:3-4; John 6:63; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Titus 3:5; John 16:8-11; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20)This is where the description goes.
The Bible
We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and is without error. We believe that the Bible is God’s revelation of Himself to mankind and is the supreme and final authority. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26)
Mankind
We believe that man was created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him, but became alienated from that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man is totally incapable of coming back into a right relationship with God by his own effort.
Salvation
We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sins. Therefore, salvation only occurs when a person places his faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ as the sufficient payment for his sin. (Genesis 1:26-31; Genesis 3:1-7; Romans 5:12-21; Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 2:16; Galatians 3:8; Titus 3:5; Romans 10:9-10; Acts 16:31; Hebrews 9:22)
The Church
We believe that the church is the body of Christ of which Jesus Christ is the Head. The members are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to a lost world. (Ephesians 1:22; Ephesians 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23; John 17:11, 20-23)

The Nicene Creed
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, visible and invisible. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through Him all things were made. For us and for our salvation He came down from heaven, was incarnate from the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered death and was buried. On the third day He rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
