LIVING CLASSROOMS

"Living Classroom" is a term coined to describe a course that equips people

2026 CLASSES

GOSPEL PARENTING

Anchoring our Families in the Love of Christ
Taught by Claire Trainor
When it comes to parenting, have you ever thought, 'I have no idea what I'm doing', or 'Why is this so hard'? You're not alone!
This class is for parents with children of all ages. We will dig into the challenges and joys of parenting.  Encouraging one another and offering practical help in answering the many questions that come up in parenting through a Biblical lens.
God's Word equips us to parent with purpose and can give us a clear vision of where we're going and how to navigate a myriad of challenges.  See how the Gospel gives us a new foundation and a new hope for parenting children of every age.

COUNTERING CULTURAL NARRATIVES

Flip the Script with the Story of the Gospel
Taught by Rev. Michael Mayo
No matter where we sit in our cultural landscape -- religious or secular, liberal or conservative, rural or urban -- we share narratives  that shape our imaginations. Yet they are often as imperceptible as the air we breathe. While these stories get many things right, they lie just enough to lead us to disillusionment and despair. This class will help us put a finger on some of those stories, show how the Bible tells a better story, and invite us to start living out that fuller story.

CS LEWIS, STORIES, AND THE AGE OF UNBELIEF

Communicating the Gospel to a Cynical World
Taught by Rev. David Drake
Over the five weeks of Lent, we will be reading portions of C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia and the Great Divorce to not only better understand the gospel, but how to communicate the gospel to a skeptical world. The goal is to both enjoy and learn more about the power of story in proclaiming the gospel and answering the deepest questions of the heart.

ENCOUNTERING THE HOLY SPIRIT

Experiencing More of God's Presence and Power
Taught by Rev. Brad Boucher
The Holy Spirit, while critical in our capacity to grow in our faith and to experience Christ’s power and work in our lives, remains the most mysterious part of the Trinity. In this class we will provide room for teaching, questions, conversations, and testimonies about how the Spirit is at work building up individuals in their faith and the Church as a whole.  Between classes you’ll be asked to watch a 30-40 minute Alpha video which will help provide additional context and clarity on who the Spirit is and how He works in our lives.

GOD IN THREE PERSONS

Discovering the Trinitarian Faith
Taught by Zach Holbrook
The doctrine of the Holy Trinity is at the root of Christian belief. We confess a triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—and this shapes our worship, our prayer, our lives of discipleship, and our ultimate hope.
Theology isn't a bar we have to clear or a checklist to complete, but a way of deepening our personal relationship with the God who is Personal Relationship in Himself. This class is for any believer who wants to further their understanding of God and the tradition of Christian belief. By looking at the simple W questions—who, what, when, where, why (and how)—we'll learn to see and articulate the trinitarian faith within our prayer, praise, and proclamation
Participants do not need to be able to attend all five weeks in order to participate in the series.
It is helpful to choose 1 class to attend for the duration of the program, instead of jumping to various classes.
$5 voluntary donation per person for the meals each week requested.
